Faculty

Dr. Tareq Mahmud
Program Manager

Dr. Tareq Mahmud is a dedicated physician and academic leader who brings a strong blend of clinical experience and program management expertise to his role at the Manhattan School of Computer Technology (MSCT).

After earning his medical degree in 2020, Dr. Mahmud served as a physician in Bangladesh from 2021 to 2023, with a primary focus in Nephrology. His work in this specialized field provided him with in-depth experience in patient care, chronic disease management, and clinical decision-making within fast-paced healthcare environments.

Following his move to the United States, Dr. Mahmud expanded his professional scope by working in physician offices and contributing to the clinical trial industry, gaining valuable insight into both patient-centered care and the evolving landscape of medical research.

Currently serving as Program Manager at MSCT, Dr. Mahmud plays a key role in supporting student success while strengthening communication between students and faculty. His combined clinical and administrative experience allows him to effectively bridge theory and practice, enhancing the learning experience in the Medical Office Specialist and Medical Assistant programs.

Known for his warm and approachable nature, Dr. Mahmud fosters an inclusive and supportive environment where students feel encouraged to grow and succeed. He is highly regarded by both students and colleagues for his dedication, mentorship, and commitment to excellence in healthcare education.

Nabila Nusrat Chowdhury
Instructor, Medical Clinical Programs

Nabila Nusrat Chowdhury is a dedicated medical professional and educator who brings over a decade of hands-on clinical experience to her students at MSCT. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Medical College for Women and Hospital, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

At MSCT, Nabila prepares aspiring healthcare professionals for roles in medical offices, developing lesson plans, delivering lectures, and guiding students through coursework and assessments.

Her clinical background spans chronic care management, quality coordination, patient intake, EMR documentation, and medical billing and coding. She currently also works as a Clinical Care and Medscriber at Parkchester Medical Center in the Bronx, keeping her teaching grounded in real-world healthcare practice.

Fatima Ali Shaukat
Instructor, Medical Billing and Coding and Medical Clinical and Administrative Programs

Fatima Ali Shaukat is a dedicated healthcare professional and educator who brings a rich blend of clinical and academic expertise to our students. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and a Master of Public Health (MPH), giving her a well-rounded foundation across both patient care and community health.

At MSCT, Fatima teaches Medical Clinical and Administrative courses, where she is known for developing engaging, student-centered learning environments that connect classroom theory to real-world healthcare practice.

Her professional background includes clinical research, patient care, clinical trial coordination, data analysis, and regulatory compliance, with notable contributions to work on antimicrobial resistance. She also holds a Diabetes Lifestyle Coach certification from Emory University, earned in January 2026, reflecting her commitment to preventive care and chronic disease management.

Fatima is equally passionate about healthcare equity, serving as a Human Rights Consultant and advocating for patient rights, inclusion, and access to care for vulnerable populations.

Oshuare Aregbeyen
Instructor, Allied Health Programs

Oshuare Aregbeyen brings a remarkable depth of clinical and educational experience to our students. A graduate of the University of Ibadan College of Medicine with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, Oshuare began his career as a practicing Physician in Nigeria before relocating to the United States, where he has built an impressive career spanning clinical research, public health, and healthcare education.

With over eight years of hands-on clinical research experience as a Coordinator at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, Oshuare managed full study lifecycles including IRB approvals, subject enrollment, data collection, and the training of junior research staff. He currently serves as a Public Health Advisor with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, supporting school health operations across Brooklyn.

As an EMT Skills Instructor, Oshuare trains students in core emergency care competencies including CPR and AED administration, helping them prepare for national certification examinations. He holds ECFMG certification and a TESOL credential, and has over twenty years of teaching experience spanning formal classrooms, one-on-one tutoring, and online platforms.

Oshuare is passionate about empowering students with practical skills and knowledge that make a real difference in patient care and community health.

Faria Tabassum Hoque
Instructor, Allied Health Programs

Faria Tabassum Hoque, MBBS, CMA, CET, CPT, CPCT is a dedicated healthcare educator who brings a unique blend of international medical training and U.S.-based clinical expertise to her role as an Instructor in the Allied Health Programs at the Manhattan School of Computer Technology (MSCT).

A graduate of Kumudini Women’s Medical College and Hospital under the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, Faria earned her MBBS degree in 2011. She completed a comprehensive hospital internship across multiple specialties, including Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Psychiatry, and Emergency Care — building a strong, well-rounded clinical foundation.

After transitioning to the United States, she further strengthened her professional credentials by earning four certifications through the American Medical Certification Association: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA), EKG Technician (CET), Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), and Patient Care Technician (CPCT). Her diverse clinical background allows her to provide students with practical, real-world insights that extend far beyond the textbook.

As a registered physician with the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council and a multilingual professional fluent in English, Bengali, Hindi, and Urdu, Faria connects naturally with students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Her approachable teaching style and hands-on perspective create an engaging learning environment where students feel supported and inspired.

Passionate about healthcare education, Faria is committed to preparing the next generation of allied health professionals with the skills, confidence, and compassion needed to succeed in today’s clinical settings.

Dr. Abdelhakim Ferrahi
Instructor

Dr. Abdelhakim Ferrahi is a dynamic business educator and supply chain expert whose work sits at the intersection of academia and real-world industry practice. With over a decade of experience spanning higher education and consulting, he is known for transforming complex global logistics concepts into practical, career-ready knowledge for his students.

Currently serving as an Instructor at the Manhattan School of Computer Technology (MSCT) in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Ferrahi brings energy, clarity, and industry relevance into every classroom. His teaching style blends academic rigor with hands-on insight, preparing students to navigate today’s fast-evolving global marketplace.

Dr. Ferrahi holds a Ph.D. in International Trade and Logistics, earned through a collaboration between the University of Mostaganem and the University of Paris III. He also holds a Master of Science in International Trade and Logistics and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting. His research explores key areas such as supply chain optimization, risk management, global logistics, and strategic business operations.

Throughout his academic career — including roles at the University of Oran II and the Graduate School of Economics — he has developed forward-thinking curricula and mentored a diverse body of students across continents. His work has been published in international journals and presented at conferences throughout Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

Ummay Fatema Mahi
Instructor

Ummay Fatema Mahi, MBBS is a dedicated medical professional and educator who brings both clinical expertise and a compassionate approach to her role as an Instructor at the Manhattan School of Computer Technology (MSCT).

A graduate of the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, Ms. Mahi earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and completed her clinical internship at Bangladesh Medical College and Hospital. During her training, she gained hands-on experience across inpatient and outpatient care, conducted physical examinations, and assisted in surgical procedures — developing a strong and well-rounded clinical foundation. She also served on the front lines as an Emergency Department Volunteer during the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating her commitment to patient care in critical times.

After relocating to New York, Ms. Mahi expanded her experience by working in multiple medical offices throughout Brooklyn, where she further developed her skills in outpatient care and patient management. She holds a VFC Vaccine Handling Certification and earned her Medical Assistant Instructor BPSS Teacher Permit in February 2026, reinforcing her qualifications as both a clinician and educator.

Fluent in English, Bengali, Hindi, and Urdu, Ms. Mahi connects easily with a diverse student population, creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Known for her approachable demeanor and dedication to student success, she is passionate about preparing future healthcare professionals with both the technical skills and empathy needed to excel in today’s clinical settings.

Ahmad Khan
Instructor

Ahmad Khan is a passionate educator and cybersecurity specialist who brings a strong blend of academic expertise and real-world experience to his role as an Instructor at the Manhattan School of Computer Technology (MSCT).

With a solid foundation in Computer Science and Engineering, Mr. Khan completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Bangladesh after beginning his early education in Kuwait. His global academic journey has shaped a broad perspective that he carries into the classroom, enriching the learning experience for his students.

After relocating to New York City in 2021, Mr. Khan gained professional experience across multiple industries, building a versatile skill set before transitioning into education in 2023. Since then, he has taught a variety of courses at different institutions, earning a reputation for his dedication to teaching excellence and student growth.

In December 2025, he further advanced his expertise by earning a second Master’s degree in Cybersecurity from The City College of New York, strengthening his focus on one of today’s most critical and fast-evolving fields.

Known for his approachable style and engaging teaching methods, Mr. Khan creates a supportive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to participate, explore, and succeed. He remains deeply committed to empowering students with the knowledge and confidence needed to thrive in the world of technology.

Dr. Teimuraz Shvelidze
Instructor

Dr. Teimuraz Shvelidze is a Georgian-American scientist and educator with more than four decades of distinguished experience in astrophysics research and academia. He earned his undergraduate degree with honors from Tbilisi (Javakhishvili) State University in Mechanics and Mathematics, specializing in astronomy. He later completed his doctoral studies at the renowned Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory of the Georgian Academy of Sciences.

In 1999, Dr. Shvelidze was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of Tartu, Estonia, for his groundbreaking dissertation on automated quantitative spectral classification of stars. This work was subsequently published as a monograph and distributed to major scientific libraries worldwide.

Throughout his career, Dr. Shvelidze served as a Senior Research Fellow and Deputy Director at the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory, and later as a Researcher at the Kharadze Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory at Ilia University. He is the author and co-author of more than 36 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has presented his research at multiple General Assemblies of the International Astronomical Union across four continents.

With a strong commitment to knowledge-sharing and an extensive international academic background — including collaborations with universities in the United States, Germany, Estonia, and beyond — Dr. Shvelidze brings a truly global perspective to his teaching at the Manhattan School of Computer Technology (MSCT), where he has been an instructor since 2024.
